New System - What do you think?

I just helped a friend of mine select equipment for his first home theatre setup. We ordered the Samsung 65" LED from audioholics, Denon 2310 from amazon, HSU enthusiast 2 package, and speaker cable/hdmi/wall plates from monoprice.

The room is in the basement, 10' x 22' x 8' (studded walls w/drywall on all
surfaces, carpet on floor.

How did we do?

I'm confident the sub do the job. The Denon seems like a great choice too. Monoprice is just a no-brainer. The display and Hsu HB-1 I have no experience with but overall, I think you've done well.

thanks Dave. I had to try and stay on budget and he really wanted the 65" Samsung. When he first asked me for help, he was looking at Bose - yikes!
I picked the enthusiast 2 package as I've heard such great things about HSU subs - so I am hoping the speakers will do the trick. I offered him Axiom speakers as an alternate, but he chose HSU for the kickin sub.

I've always been a fan of Denon, but almost went for the Yamaha RXV- 667. I hope he's happy with our choices. It's always easy spending someone else's money.

Can anyone tell me about their experiences with the HSU speakers? I'm hoping they sound great and match well with everything else in the system.

The Hsu speakers are solid. I have a Hsu setup, and I love it. You won't want to place them directly against a wall as they are rear-ported. Give the rear ports a few inches to breath. They handle power very well, you can safely listen to very high volumes on your receiver with no problems, they will sound good all the way.

Thanks shadyJ for the affirmation on the Hsu speakers. The fronts will be on stands and the rear surrounds will be bracket mounted on the side walls behind the listening area. I'll make sure they are angled to allow the rear ports some breathing room.
