New system questions

We've moved to a new state and are closing on house Dec 17. I sold all my old equipment before move since over 10 years old and great opportunity.
After some research I've come up with the following and would love some comments (But please try to keep simple and not too techy)
Vizio M50-C1
Denon AVR 710
Klipsh sub 12hg
Def Tech center (cs 8040), bookshelf (sm 45) and surrounds (sr 8040 bp)

Need advice if all of these will work together well, and need advice on a simple, but good quality bluray for playing Netflix dvds. I have a Roku 3000 for any streaming. will be getting a logitech home aio remote, and 14 g speaker wire and hdmi cables from monoprice

Thanks for any advice!

I don't see anything that would represent a problem.

That would be fine. Wi-Fi is pretty much standard now, and Samsung's apps work pretty well.

Unless you're getting that subwoofer for around $200 I would skip it.

If you're spending up to $400 I'd look at getting this, but you'll need to be fast because there's only 20 of them left.

NOw there's 18 left. I don't think you're going to have time.

It is a sample of one (the one I had), so maybe to was defective, but the Samsung BD player I had was unacceptably loud when playing discs! Not so loud as to make me think it defective, but loud enough to be a distraction during quiet passages of music (I used it as a CD player as well).
I switched to Sony. The mechanism is quiet and it plays SACD's!

I use Samsung blu ray players exclusively. The reason is that they play anything Netflix sends me and that is not true of some other brands I've used. At one time I thought the problem was Netflix. It turned out to be Panasonic and Sony. The Samsung is a solid choice.

I'm ok with the list. Hadn't heard of SVS, but the 1000pb is getting a lot of raves. Difference between that and the one you mentioned?

The SB12 is temporarily cheaper, it won't last. The 1000PB is a 10" with a less powerful amplifier but the cabinet is larger, heavier, and ported. It does achieve a slightly lower frequency extension.

Ok. size of room is an open family room 10 x 18. Don't want any big ugly thing. So.... What is the difference in looks and sound, and are they , or is it better than the klipsch?

Welcome is in order :)
I am presuming the TV is 50" ? How far away will you be seated?
May want to consider a larger one?

Nope. Have an armoire and 50" is good. Seating app 6-8 ' away.

the svs sb-12 is still available and except for one seemingly malcontent, these are well-liked, and cheaper. They will complement my other components??? If so, will purchase at this price, then get the other stuff next week. And want to make sure on time to try them since won't be able to for 3 weeks...thanks for your help!

The SB12-NSD is a step or two up from the PB1000!
It is pretty much equivalent to an SB2000.

Ok. I'm gonna go for it, especially since there is a 45 day trial, and I won't even be able to listen :( till we move into house and set up Dec 18

Can you speak to noise while reading discs. That is the only problem I had.

Any well designed sub (and SVS are) will be compatible with any normal system (like yours). When you run Audyssey, the receiver will do most of the sub integration with the rest of your system, but come back with your results, there are a couple of manual tweaks worth doing after Audyssey does its magic!

thanks. just ordered it. It's also small enough to keep here in our crappy rental til we move. Now trying to figure out cables from monoprice.
How many active hdmi cables? How long for subwoofer speaker cable? 12 awg speaker wire, 100ft. And I guess I'll need some banana plugs. Ordered a panamax sp8 av surge protector. I have some knowledge and put together my stuff over 10 years ago, but advancements have been made at much better prices now!
