Hi guy's,

I assume that question has been asked for many times but i still feel bit confused:confused:
and not want to get system that i been pushed to buy.

I am planning watch movies-BlueRay/TV 40% and listen to music 60% from PC
and from time to time play with my PS3 console

my budget is between 1,500 2,000 AUD

at first stage i am looking for an decent receiver which will last standing
I dont mind pay bit more but to get reliable receiver.

for speakers at the moment i dont have much money left :(
so i will look in few months for Infinity or Hi-Fidelity
will prefer to use only 2 speakers instead of 5,6 or 7.

and will happy to get an answer from the professionals here.
I been offered for the Harman Kardon AVR 360 for 1000AUD but didn't find any review on it so its looks a bit suspicious.

thanks in advance,
David

I'd stay away from the new lower end yamaha receivers... Pioneer and Denon are where it's at for good entry level receivers right now, Onkyo isn't bad either, I'd probably not get a Harman either.

I'd wait for the new 2011 Denon models to come out, one of those will likely be your best bet, I believe Audioholics also reviewed some new low end Pioneer units, give those a look too and see which one(s) best suit your needs.

I agree - wait a couple of months for the 2011 Onkyo, Denon, or Pioneer Elite models. I'd avoid the non-elite pioneers.

I also concur that these are the best bets. I do prefer the entry-level Denon over Onkyo due to the Audyssey MultEQ and I prefer it as well over Pioneer's MCACC. The lower-end Onkyo receivers use 2EQ, which is still great.
