Guys, the sub arrived - and I am happy to announce that I am still among the living!
My god... you know, you take out the tape measure, you square off a section of the floor where you know it will rest to get an idea of how big it's going to be, and STILL nothing could prepare me for what arrived yesterday!
My poor wife, and I'm going to now give her full credit - did not freak when she saw it. I could tell that she was tense, and quite possibly muttering obscenities under her breath, but she simply smiled, shook her head and walked back into the kitchen. The only thing she told me was that when we put the house on the market and start showing it, that she wants it out of the living room, because it pretty much dominates the space now.
I told her, "Okay, deal." The alternative in the matter is either send it back, or death. I can live with the compromise.
So to the more pertinent matters - this thing ROCKS!!! I wasn't impatient with the setup, I plugged it in, turned it on, calibrated it, re-positioned, re-calibrated, and once I was satisfied, I popped in "The Kingdom". Let me just say that the explosions in the movie literally shook the overhead lights.
I know this comes as no surprise to most of you, but this is my first real-deal sub, so all I can say is FANTASTIC!!
