Hi all,
i bought the Yamaha YST-SW315 sub, and i have Yamaha's RX-V1400 reciever.
when i connected the sub to the LFE output, the sound level of the sub is very low :/

is the LFE output damaged? or the sub?
or is any setting that i need to do?
thanks all.

P.S
im using a VERY simple RCA cable..

I had a similar problem. I found that on my Yamaha receiver there is a setting that turns the main speakers down -10 dB so they don't overpower the effects speakers (sub, surrounds). After I selected this setting the sub had much better sound.

Be sure you have all speakers set to SMALL and the subwoofer set to yes/on in the receiver setup menu. Check that any crossover controls on the subwoofer are bypassed or set to their highest setting. Don't forget to turn up the volume on the sub too. Also, double check to be sure you have the subwoofer cable connected to the proper RCA jacks on the receiver and subwoofer...it is easy to miss sometimes..:)
