As far as going deeper, it aint going to happen, the box is small as it is, changing subs isnt going to help you. I dont know how much deeper you want, that thing rolls off at 25Hz, so your not missing much. As far as hitting harder, you will need to replace the amp and the woofer. Prob a 500 watt unit will do it for you.

For the price, get a second one :D That will give you 2x the output, but will not give you any more extension. I wouldn't exactly say you aren't missing much. A sub that has decent ouput at 20Hz will definitely give you more tactile feel than a 25Hz capable sub, and the chart from AVS shows that sub is basically done at 25Hz, not that it starts to roll off at 25Hz.

That box is not sized or tuned to go to 20Hz, so no matter what driver you drop in there, it isn't going to get there, as MacManNM pointed out.

If it's extension you are looking for, you're going to need a different sub completely.

.....bravo, 2 have the effect of 3.....and gives a balanced front soundstage.....sounds like it's the mains and center going to the floor.....

I have an XSub box and amp. Contacted PE, they recommended, IIRC, the 295-185 driver as the best match, most likely to duplicate the Cadence specs. But, he didn't think it could go below 30hz in that box with a 7.5" port, tuned to 50hz. PE's guessing that the amp has some built in EQ to achieve 25hz.

I've been looking at other driver's as well and it's no sweat off my nose, because I have a working XSub. But I wouldn't risk putting an upgraded driver into a working sub, if it wouldn't provide better SQ or extention. I'd get another sub.

edit.
According to craigsubs numbers, 2 Xsubs will give you ~ 99db @ 25 vs. 1 PB10 102db, not to mention the < 25 output.

Off topic - Ron, interested in trading some listening sessions since you're local? I'd like to hear the X-sub first hand, and you're welcome to come give an ear to the PB-10. Shoot me an e-mail if you're interested.
