Hello all!
I recently purchased a new LED tv and decided it's now time to upgrade the sound that goes along with the great picture.
I've been doing research around these forums for a few weeks now to get some ideas. My budget is around $1,200 and I was thinking of starting with a solid 2.1 system from scratch, the speakers will be used for about 60% movies and 40% music. Room is 14ftx10ft with 12ft ceilings.
Based on what I've read here and other places I'm considering the following:
Receiver:
Denon AVR 1613 - $230 Accessories4less
Yamaha RX-V573 - $420
Speakers:
HTD Level THREE Towers - $800/pair
Pioneer SP-FS52 Towers - $250/pair
Infinity P363 Towers - $400/pair
This brings me to my big dilemma...I'm interested in trying the HTD towers, and those along with a receiver will eat up most of my budget. First, will either of those receivers have any problems powering the HTD speakers and which would you prefer or others (need at least 3 HDMI inputs)?
Second, if I go with the HTD's is the Polk PSW110 a decent sub to go along with the woofers on the tower? Or would it make a big difference to save and get a different sub (<$400)?
The future plan is to make this a 5.1 system but for the next 2 years or so I'm planning on running with this setup. Thanks for any advice you all can give me.
