I just order a pair of AXIOM M80ti and I was just showing to some one what they look like on your web page, when I just realise that the specification how these speaker are 4 ohm. Hep, I know , stupid me :( that I did verify this before I order these speaker. But because these speaker are Bi-wirable is it possible that the ohm independence increase ? I don't what to take the chance to damage my receiver; I have the DENON AVR 3805
and it do not support 4 ohm speaker.

Any advice ?

you might go back to the Axiom website. They have forums specifically for their products that could probably answer that. I doubt you're the first person to have done this (in fact, the system exactly as you describe was on MY wish list)...

their tech help people might have an answer as well.

Biwiring a speaker only changes the load to the amplifier slightly due to different cable impedance. It will make little difference to the amp in most cases (assuming your not using some wacky high capacitance exotic cable).

You should be fine driving the M80's with the AVR-3805. It has a pretty decent power supply in it and your speakers are high sensitivity (> 90dB) so don't sweat it. Clint drove a pair of RBH 4ohm lower efficiency speakers with that receiver with no problems in a 2500-3000 cu ft room.

If you feel you need more power down the road, you can always preamp out to it.

Also, if you are using a sub, you may want to try setting all speakers to small, and the crossover at 60-80Hz and see how that works as well. It will preserve dynamics for the amp and likely lead to easier bass integration with the sub then leaving them full range.

Yes I am running 2 sub presently, both JBL PB10 , one from the AVR3805 sub out (LFE), the secound sub from the left and right speaker cables and the M80ti will be connect from the sub amp. Just in case it matter I am set up to run my 3805 as 7.1...(no zone B)

I don't run any exotique cables, I always belive in good but not over the top exotoc cables. Right now I have 12 gauge , 35 feet long speaker cables.

95% of our time they will play will be to watch movie, so rarely we will watch more that 2 1/2 hours at the time (exception of LOR) So the 3805 will rarely run for more that 3 hours and never more than 6 hours. (I don't think I be able to watch more that 2 LOR in a row)

The ventilation is very good, 6 inch on the top, 3 inch on each side but more than 18 inch at the back and no door in front. I always tought that less ohm that what then receiver is rated, was very bad, but to much ohm was okay.

If I sum all the advice I got so far, the 3805 and M80 should get along, I should keep a eye to make sure the 3805 heat up and dont drive the speaker too hight, too long . I will not be able to test this theory for a other 2 weeks, (my basement have been flood in Sept one inch and half, and it will be fix in the next 2 week) if any one have other good info, fire ahead.

Thanks for every one advise so far.

As one that hangs around the Axiom board, I've seen this topic posted many times. According to every thread I find on the subject, you'll be fine running the M80tis with your 3805.
