I am purchasing a new house and am interested in installing a new sound system. The room is about 15' by 45', maybe slightly larger. Looking to spend around $1,500 - $2,500 for the right system. I have been eyeing the Aperion Intimus 4T hybrid SD. Use to work in car audio a long time ago so feel completely lost with all the options and technology now available. Any help and/or suggestions that you all can provide would be greatly appreciated.

That's a huge room and in a room that big I don't think you'll be happy with a system designed for small rooms. You'd have a better shot at filling that room with a pair of Infinity P362 towers and a PC350 center and a pair of P163 bookshelves as surrounds. The P163 wont be an exact cosmetic match but you save a ton of money buying last years models for the front 3. The P163s are also a bit big for wall hanging so you may need stands but the smaller P153 that I'd normally recommend are probably too small for your room.

*Note that they've already run out of two discontinued models and it's only a matter of time before the P362 and PC350 sell out.

The real challenge will be picking out a subwoofer. Assuming an 8' ceiling you have at least 5400cubic feet to deal with. Take some measurements and contact SVSounds and Rythmik Subwoofers for a recommendation. Be sure you include anything the room is open to such as stairwells and/or hallways. For the cables and interconnects checkout monoprice.com.

But before you spend any money I'd do some quality homework in the tips & trick section of the Audioholics site.
