I have mostly been a cell phone/computer/ipad geek so audiovisual is new to me. I have a new Samsung PN60E550 HDTV, Direct TV receiver, Samsung Blu-Ray player BD-E6500, Yamaha HTR-6140 receiver, and just got Vizio S2920w sound bar (got sound bar because, although sound on TV is good, it comes out from the back and I hesitate to play loud due to possibly bothering neighbors behind wall). So now trying to determine best way to connect all these for sound to come out of sound bar with minimum switching settings (dismayed to discover another remote for sound bar!).
Will it accomplish anything to go through receiver or should I leave it out of the mix since I can connect music through bluetooth phone or ipad?
Best way to minimize remotes.
BTW, I plan to eventually ditch the direct TV now that I have discovered Aereo TV! $8/mo with one channel recording sure beats paying $40 for infomercials just to get network TV.
