For best results use HDMI from your components to your receiver and one HDMI from your receiver to your monitor. This way, you'll get the best picture and sound and can use the 805 for all of your switching. If you get an HDCP error from your cable box, run HDMI directly from the cable box to the monitor and optical or coaxial audio from the cable box to the receiver. If you do it this way, you will still get optimal video and sound, but you'll have to do switching with both the receiver and the monitor. If you plan to use the monitor speakers using the HDMI feed from the receiver, you need to tell the Onkyo to pass the audio signal to the monitor.
