Halo 3 has been a blessing from the sky for the Xbox 360, the super-hot game pushed sales to a record number of 527,800 consoles sold for September. So hot were the sales, that Xbox managed to blast everyone aside, the ever-popular Wii came in at close second with 501,000 units sold, Nintendo DS at 495,800 units, PlayStation Portable at 284,500 units, PlayStation 2 at 215,000 units, PlayStation 3 at 119,400 units and last in the pack, the Game Boy Advance at a paltry 75,000 units.

This has been the best four weeks for the Xbox since Christmas of 2006. This speaks volume of HALO and how much respect it commands among gamers.

This action is expected by analysts to fare well into the shopping season around the corner, as parents, relatives and "late" adopters will once again produce record numbers for the Xbox 360 as Christmas closes in.
