Hi there, I'm working on an HT setup for my loft area that resides inbetween all of the bedrooms upstairs. This will be sort of another family room so to speak where the kids can watch movies with my wife and I before we hit the sack at night. I already have purchased the speakers and the TV. I'm going to use an elemental designs a5-350 subwoofer that I already have in my possession as well.

The room is weird, it's an L shape and the setup will go in the 10 x 18 portion of the L. The ceiling is an 8 footer.

Speakers = axiom inwall/onwall

Looking at the denon 1910 vs the onkyo 607 right now. They both can be had as refurbs for around $300. I need to be able to power this setup nicely, as it's a bit permanent with the speakers being inwall.

if you are going to consider an Onkyo, I would suggest the 2010 "8" series, where they have addressed the heat issues. SR508 / SR608

The year old Denon would be a good choice also. Some have found the Denon manual a little hard to follow, but this gentleman has extensive knowledge of the Denon line and has published a "dictionary" of Denon speak.
