Ok well, any of the AVRs that I suggested in that list will work just fine. But it would be easier to answer your question if you said WHAT speakers you have an not just the driver specs....what really matters in terms of picking an AVR is their OHM rating and the EFFICIENCY rating. So if you could let us know that we would be able to steer you more correctly...
All of this aside, if you let us know what speakers you have that wold help but at the same price point, and with your stated needs the 2808ci should be perfect for you...
Here are the specs for the speakers.

Speakers:
1 x Center channel speaker - 2-way - External - 60 - 50000 Hz - 8 Ohm - Wired
1 x Active subwoofer - External - 290 Watt - 25 - 150 Hz - Wired
2 x Right/left channel speaker - 2-way - External - 35 - 50000 Hz - 8 Ohm - Wired
4 - External - 80 - 20000 Hz - 8 Ohm - Wired

Driver Details
Right/left channel speaker : 1 x Tweeter driver - 1 in, Active subwoofer : 1 x Subwoofer driver - 10 in, Center channel speaker : 1 x Tweeter driver - 1 in, 1 x Tweeter driver - 3.25 in, Center channel speaker : 2 x Woofer driver - 3.25 in - Onkyo Micro Fiber (OMF), Right/left channel speaker : 1 x Woofer driver - 5 in - Onkyo Micro Fiber (OMF)

I hope this is what you were asking for. My budget is around the same. The way this system sounds right now the speakers seem to be good enough. I dont wanna spend huge amounts of money for a wicked system. (Well not yet  ) My main concern was just being able to use all my speakers. As i have it setup now, i connect the PS3 through a digital optical cable and only get 5.1 sound from BDs.

Just to clear things up once again :) If i do buy the Denon 2808ci, i will be able to connect my PS3 to it through the HMDI cable, then run a HDMI cable from the Denon 2808ci to my TV and i will be able to receive 7.1 (HD Audio)? But it wont show up on the receiver as DTS-MA or DD-HD because the PS3 converts it?? Although i will still get the HD sound quality right? I am not to sure what PCM is, i am going to look it up now.

Thanks again for your input. :)

You have it correct.

Just set the PS3 to LPCM and let her rip.

I changed my Denon to display BLU-RAY when I watch movies so I feel better:D

Just as a note if you are using the PS3 as your blu-ray player and you think you be able to get to use the HD-codec decoding in the AVR of the DTS-MA and DD-HD....you WILL NOT be able to do this. The PS3 decodes the formats INTERNALLY and sends them over the HDMI via PCM.

A blu-ray has to be able to bitstream(send the uncompressed audio via HDMI) the audio to the receiver in order for it to decode it in the HD-format....and the PS3 does NOT bitstream. All this means you still get the benefit of the audio format...yet you do not get the satisfaction of seeing the DTS-MA or DD-HD light up on the display...no big deal really...

All of this aside, if you let us know what speakers you have that wold help but at the same price point, and with your stated needs the 2808ci should be perfect for you...
Does this mean that I dont even need a high end receiver to hear the HD 7.1 audio since the PS3 decodes it INTERNALLY? So i basically just need a receiver that can receive aduio through HDMI cables? Set the PS3 to PCM and alls well?

Yes exactly, that is what my overly long statement in the previous post was trying to get at.....The PS3 does the decoding, not the receiver. Also remember, not all of your blu-rays are in 7.1...I wouldn't know how many are sine I only have 5.1 and never look to see if they are in 7.1 or not. Nonetheless your receiver will have modes to give you the extra two channels in both music and movies...

OK this will be my final question. I think i have decided on a Onkyo TXSR606B.
My last question is probably gonna be the worst one

This Onkyo TXSR606B receiver boasts it has 630 Watts of power, while the receiver that came with the Onkyo HT-S5100 home theatre package says it has 1200 Watts. Is this just a fabricated number? Does it include the speakers and subwoofer? Or does it have more power becuase it only has HDMI passthrough so it an focus on raw power........ Told ya it would be a stupid question :D

The TXSR606B receiver alone is $600 (up here in Canada)
The entire HT-S5100 package (Speakers, Sub, Receiver) was $550

So logically thinking the TXSR606B has to be A LOT better quality right?

Thanks again for all the input.

On the power rating they are measuring one speaker driven and then multiplying it by the number it can use (5 or 7). This is of no use and means nothing.

The YAMAHA RX-V663 will do everything you need

The YAMAHA RX-V663 will do everything you need it to do and more. By far one of the best receivers for the money with plenty of power and loads of features.

As long as you're ok with crappy GUI and a volume display that can't be seen.:D

Same boat

I'm in a similar boat as the others. I'm looking to upgrade my receiver and have been reading the various posts here. The Denon 2808ci seems like the best deal at the moment but I thought I would mention my speakers just in case. I have the Paradigm Monitor 11's in the front and the Paradigm ADP390's in the rear. The specs are posted on the Paradigm's website, since I'm a newbie it won't let me post the direct URL
My center channel is the odd man out, it's a JBL SC305, here is what I found for the specs on that:
High Frequency Dome Transducer 14mm Titanium Laminate
Low Frequency (High Polymer Laminate) 5"(2)
Crossover Frequency 2.7 kHz
Frequency Response (- 6 dB) 100 Hz to20 kHz
Sensitivity(1 Watt/1 meter) 87 dB
Nominal Impedance 8 ohms
Recommended Amplifier Power* 10 to 100 Watts

I'm looking to spend 500-600 as well. I'm open to any suggestions or opinions.

Thanks in advance

Just pick the AVR that has the features you need.

I have owned mainly Yamaha AVRs the last one being the 3800 plus I have had a couple of Pioneers in my lifetime. This is my first Denon and it is the best AVR I have ever had.
