Hi,

I'm getting a Samsung 50" DLP widescreen HDTV model SAMHLS5087. I'm looking to match this with a receiver or speaker setup. Currently we have an old 5.0 setup (the woofer died) by JBL, and I don't know how good it is. First question: do you think we should replace these speakers?

Either way we'll end up getting a new receiver. Here are some things I'm considering (due to sale prices tomorrow)....

1) Yamaha 6 channel receiver for $400 model YAMRXV559 and no speakers.

2) Yamaha 5 channel receiver and Yamaha speakers model YAMDTXC870 $599.

3) Panasonic 5 channel receiver and speakers model PANSCHT940 $450.

4) JVC THC60 5 channel receiver and speakers $500.

5) Denon/Mirage combo w/ Mirage Nanosat 5.1 and Denon AVR 1707 for $799.

Thanks in anticipation,

Kyle

None of the above. Let's start over with a budget, room size in cubic feet, you want a sub, right?, what are your goals for the new system and anything else that is a must have or have not.

If all this more than you want to deal with there is a HTIB forum over at AVS http://www.avsforum.com/ who's members will have a lot more experience using that solution. No disrespect intended if I came across that way.
