new PE subwoofer kit

Parts Express is finally selling its best Reference Series subwoofer, the RSS 12" HF, as a kit, with their HPSA500 500 watt plate amp, and the same 2 ft³ sealed cabinet that they use in their Titanic 12" kit. See the RS1200.

For about $526 (plus shipping), you'll get one of the cleanest sounding subwoofers available. They claim it will take about an hour to assemble. I think it's easily worth at least double that price in an assembled subwoofer sold retail.

Nice. Looks like it has good output to about 22Hz.

FYI, at least some of links on their list of parts are incorrect. The woofer link goes to a tweeter (if you click the wording) or to a midrange (if you click the part number). The next few seem to be all over the place, too. Hopefully they'll get that cleaned up soon.

Cooool. :D

Good sound and good price, it's adding to my desirer to DIY my own sub (and speakers).

Very, very sweet. The optimizations done for the sealed design make the response look very impressive.

This'll probably be my next sub.

I am taking a serious look at it myself and have been for a while. It sure looks promising. :):)

I forgot to point out that this is a special price about $81 less than PE's regular price for this kit. That's about 13.5% off.

The price flyer I got in the mail says this special is good until the end of October. So, if you're thinking of this subwoofer, now is a good time.

Looks like it will have more output than the Rythmik but I don't think it will give you a big upgrade in sound quality over it since the Rythmik is a solid performer.
