New Need help with Wireless Headphones

I have a very modest home theater setup and I purchased a set of RCA WHP141 wireless headphones that I could use late at night while my girlfriend is sleeping. I have a Sony STR DE635 5.1 receiver (granted it is about 7 years old but I love it) that I connected the headphones too. However when I use them I only get audio out of the left ear, the right produces static. I tried the headphones on my home pc and they worked perfectly. I tried adjusting the settings on my receiver but nothing works. I even tried a pair of old headphones on my receiver and those too will only work on the left ear. Any tips or anything I have over looked? I emailed RCA but they are no help. I apologize in advance if I posted this in the wrong forum. I dont know where else to turn.

I'm assuming that you plug the headphone sender unit into the jack on the front of the receiver. It could be that the jack is dusty and you're not getting good contact. I would try zipping the plug in and out a bunch of times quickly or getting some contact cleaner. If you are using one of those adapters that makes the plug larger or smaller, do it with that too. It sounds like something isn't getting good contact.

Also if an adapter is being used make sure it is stereo and not mono. The stereo plug can be identified by the fact that it has two rings around the tip instead of just one.
