Hi, I am yuki, came across this board looking for a hifi and audio / video forum. I just put together a $190 2 channel system a few days ago as a hobby system, and to supplement the poor music performance of my Panasonic home theater in a box system. It is my first stereo system that is not some cruddy shelf setup, usually I use headphones, my favorites currently being my Sennhesier HD-650's and my HD-485's.

Here is the new system specs:

Insignia NS-R2000 (sherwood 2.0 oem)
Insignia NS-B2111 speakers (some Chinese oem)
Rocket fish 20 feet of 16 gauge wire (on clearance for like $6 for the spool)

The rest of my home theater setup:
Insignia 37 inch lcd (LG panel, made by orion in Japan, 8bit)

Panasonic Home theater in a box connected to TV via optical which carries 5.1 HDMI audio from my home theater PC

Acer Aspire x1200 with HDMI out, 4GB of ram and can run 1080p video at around 30-40% cpu

22 inch Westinghouse lcd monitor (Chi Mei panel, MVA driving, 8bit)

Nintendo wii

I love my setup, it works well and is very budget. The load speaker i just bought have exceeded my expectations as did the 2 channel receiver. Given the combo the noise is not noticeable (no hiss or ground loop).

will post pics once i have 5 posts

New members are always welcome. Lots of knowledgable people here willing to help, and for the most part, very diplomatic.

Hope you stick around. Audiohoiics has a wealth of good information on speaker placement, calibration, wire management, and other very useful articles.

Enjoy your system and keep us posted on your progress.

Hey, yuki, nice set-up that you've got there. Glad that you're happy with your new purchase. $190 is a good price. Like Mazer said - nice headphones.

Hi Yuki,

Welcome to AH. Glad to hear that you're enjoying the new toys. Sounds like you know your way around a computer. Cool looking art. :)

I like those posters. Anime art is really cool (i've got a ghost in the shell poster to put in the wall).

You could hide those cables. Use a cardboard sheet in the same colour as the desk and put it against the wall, hiding the cables. That would look nicer.

Cool setup. Remember, if it sounds great to you, that's what counts the most.

thanks for everyone's comments ^^. The system does sound great and I just got some wire racks to put all the equipment on. They were only $13 a piece and now some of the deep irritating resonance the speakers caused being close to the floor are gone, it was vibrating the floorboards before and coloring the bass at higher volumes.

I will be dealing with wire management soon, maybe next weekend. Also I do not think I will need a sub, most of the trance music i listen to is on headphones. Usually on this system I will listen to early electronic compositions, baroque era classical, and some rock. As classical music goes though, these speakers sound phenomenal!

Of course you need a subwoofer!!! Who doesn't? LOL
Some instruments can go pretty low in the bass area, your classical tracks might gain a new dimension with a sub.
