You sure like your speaker nudity. Nice HTPC setup you have there. That makes you the second one.

i just did that today, i am not sure if i like it. but change is nice sometimes. i turned my front channels on their sides so they sit vertically, i think it helps the direct reflecting feature. the diagonal walls pose a slight problem.

its not the most beautiful setup, but it cost me less than $300.

and at least it can annoy the piss out of my neighbors.

Welcome to the site.

Everyone has to start somewhere and you are off to a good start. It took me years to get where you are when I got out of college. In all fairness, my priorities were elsewhere (cars are my first love among inanimate objects).

I do have some comments. I find in a small space you really have to be careful in your selection. Anything not necessary or that can be placed out of view, the better. I would suggest a smaller AV credenza with just the essentials, work on your speaker placement (they should all be at ear level), wire managment is good but could use a little more attention, and as your budget allows, explore the link below to select a quality DVD player.

Sorry, you won't find a lot of Bose fans around here and Monster Cables really has got a bloody nose on this site. Not so much about quality as business practices (Monster).

The TV you have is capable of some very impressive images so a quality DVD player could really help it realize its potential.

I hope you stick around. Lots of knowledgable people on this site willing to lend a hand. Audioholics also has a lot of great articles to help you on your path to audio bliss. Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress.

thanks, that is really helpful. i got the reciever, jbl satellites and cables at a discount when i worked at best buy like 4 years ago. they are marked up like 70% in some cases. so i got them dirt cheep. :) i think i will take everything apart and organize my wires with zip ties and labels. it looks like spaghetti right now. :)
