new member help

hello everyone. i have a pair of ex organ speakers made in the 60's. they have 4 15'' cones 1 10" and a high intenstity jbl tweeter. all of the are rated at 150 watta and 8 ohms. i wanna turn these into a real power set. can any one direct me firstly to reading material about the basics of audio and how all the crap like parellel vs inseries and how to figure out power to the speakers and equalizers and stuff. i need a basic primer

There are people on here that can answer that question FAR better than I can... by the time I search for an array of WikiPedia pages for more information for ya', someone else here will probably beat me to it
