I'm going to be moving into a bit bigger of a space and I'm looking for some help deciding where to set up the sound stage.

I'm sure the best option is to set the fronts up so they fire lengthwise (as shown by the X's on either side of the fireplace), but I also want to minimize the sound being transferred to the rest of the house which is where the other set of X's comes from.

My main concerns are the doorless entry point, which I plan on closing up as tight as possible. Also, the hardwood floors and all the Windows along the one wall.

The room is about 12'x20'x8'
Currently using the AA's and jbl es250p sub.

"Sound stage"? You mean a 2.1 music system?

Your proposed positioning will indeed minimize direct radiation of sound through the door. Plus, a pair of AAs and a baby sub in that room will also minimize your exposure. However, volume is volume. Room insulation and volume control will still be key factors.

I've stated before that I don't plan on keeping it a 2.1 system forever. In fact, my plan was to add more speakers as soon as space allowed for it, and now it does. Lol

Also, I was off with my estimates. The room is actually 14'x20' with the entry point being 4 feet wide.

I was thinking of adding a closet door and tracks to the entrance. Something pretty heavy for sound dampening. Suggestions?

For the Windows I plan to add heavy curtains.
