I'm confused - how is a $0.56 decrease in stock price a "free fall"?

Free fall since PortalPlayer's anouncement that it lost the contract which was over a week ago.

Actually "free fall" is one of those cliche expressions I should stay away from. It's meaning is only implied and ambiguous. It's so overused it can no longer be consdiered a colorful metaphor. Thanks for the wud up on da English tip 'yo.
