New HT System advice

Hi.

I'm out to buy my first "real" HT system and I just can't make my mind on what to buy... I've read a lot of reviews but I'm still not sure on the final system setup...

So, what am I looking for?
An AV Receiver + 5.1 speaker and sw

What will I use it for?
Mainly gaming and watching blu-ray and divx from my PS3.
Some music streaming from computer and iphone connectivity would be great.
Music quality isn't a plus compared with good video and sound fx!!!

What other gear do I already have?
PC and a wireless-n wifi network and I'll be connecting the AV Receiver to a 42'' Hitachi plasma.

What am I considering buying in 1-2 years:
I'm considering upgrading to a 50'' plasma TV or add a projector. It's also possible that I'll moving to a new place and have a similar size living room (check attached pic for current room space) just for A/V, so whatever I buy know should allow me to increase the distance from sofa to the front speakers up to 20-25 feet.

What's the budget?
Receiver and Speaker should cost more than 4500EUR (that's around $5500USD).

What have I looked for so far?
Current thoughts were on an Axiom Audio 80-500-180 speaker system + Yamaha RX-V3900...

My living room space (dimensions and distance to TV and where I have to install the speakers: total dimension 25x15 feet, distance from sofa to TV: 10 feet.

All suggestions are welcomed! :)

I agree you have given this good thoughts. For receiver I have always liked Yamaha, seems to be better built than most out there. I would also consider looking at the new Harman Kardon line of receivers. They have some real muscle and sound good if you also do a lot of 2 channel music listening.

10 feet away from a 42inch is pretty far. I am not sure if you will be getting the full benefit from a hi-def picture but I would check it on THX's website or maybe in Audioholic's U

Thanks for your feedback xego. I'm now thinking on moving to a 50'' or 55'' flat screen!

I`d be a bit weary about the axiom M80. Any speaker with impedance dips that make an emotiva XPA-2 shut down should be treaded with carefully.
