Hey all, new to the posting game but here we go. I'm building a new house and have the opporunity to trick out the AV in the family room. Nothing crazy, pasma and surround. Want to use in wall speakers. I don't want to say money is no object but I will pay for quality sound. Any suggestions?

Thanks much appreciated, although the Triads would be nice they are bit much on $$$ but I am sure worth every cent.

Like I said. PM Paul Scarpelli (Triad Dude), and ask him about cost for putting a system together. Paul is a great guy and always willing to help. If Triads aren't for you he will make recommendations for other companies.

Unless you've already done your research?

My vote is for Speakercraft or Sonance unless you have the money for the Triads.

Welcome stratman62, what are the dimensions of the room? A ballpark budget would help. Panasonic/Pioneer for the plasma, Panny's less expensive. The receiver/pre,amp will be determined by your speaker and feature requirements. Are you considering mono- or multi-polar surrounds?

One consideration for the framing, make sure the stud spacing where the plasma and center speaker will be positioned is appropriate. Many in-wall center speakers are wider than what the typical 16" oc stud bay will accommodate.

Glad you folks are so helpful, much appreciated....The room will be 20x16, definitely going pioneer plasma. Sound I'm looking for is multipolar, I can swing $1,500.00 for speakers and receiver, if required I will spend more but I'd have to sell a guitar. Decisions, decisions.......

This may or may not work for you but worth checking into it. http://www.axiomaudio.com/epicinwalls_main.html

Most of the speaker is into the wall and a few inches stick out. Not so sure about the surrounds though.

A 5-channel Niles HD-6R/LCR/FX (bi-polar surround) set-up will run roughly $1500 alone. http://www.4electronicwarehouse.com/brands/niles/in-wall

A 5-channel Def Tech UIW-65/75/BPA set-up will run MSRP $1255 http://www.definitivetech.com/loudspeakers/inwall_/inwall_.html

Polk Audio TC625i/265i/625i for <$950 http://www.jr.com/JRSectionView.process?N=10172+401653&Ne=400000#Brand

OR 3-pairs of Polk Audio RC65i for a 6-channel set-up for $600 http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=2185676

Minimally for a sub you’d want an SVS PB10-NSD ($500) or HSU VTF-2 MKIII ($552)

An Onkyo 605 ($450) should be able to power these systems fairly well. http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4166654

I don't think you can pivot the driver with the Polk's. Only the tweeter.

Pivoting the driver is like angling your speakers to the sweet spot.

Thats one of the features that I liked about the Speakercraft setups...

they have the ability to angle both mid's and tweets... I really wish to hear some as my bedroom system will be coming up in spring... :)
I get those at cost, too bad their website is just such a pain in the A$$

Do you have any custom installers, or audio boutique stores near you that carry Speakercraft?
