Noob here with basic question...I am trying to learn more about home audio/theater, but I fear this problem is too big for me at this time in my "training". I recently bought a house and it has built in speakers in the ceiling. I need to know what kind of receiver/amp I need/should get. I would be connecting my TV (HDMI), cable box (HDMI), and Xbox (HDMI). I would also like to hook up all these speakers I have in the ceiling, but really have no clue the type of hardware to connect all this together.

I have 6 speakers in total. 4 in the main living area, and 2 in the bar area which are down the hall. There is also the ability to add 2 more speakers outside, but right now, I have no plans of doing this.

Here is a link to the setup.

What can I do?

Looked at your pictures and googled the model number on the speakers to find out they are a 2 way Klipsch speaker. As for a receiver it really depends on what you want to do.. According to your diagram it looks like all of the lines are run to the same area, so you could get a 7.1 receiver with dual zone capabilities and run all of your speakers from one source. You will have to buy a center channel and a sub woofer for you living room theater, and you would probably want to invest in a decent set of front speakers if you want a more high quality audio experience, but your ceiling speakers will work great as surrounds.
For receivers personally I like Marantz but you can use Denon, Onkyo, Yamaha, Sony etc and most support dual zone as long as it is 7.1 or higher.
Here is one example that can be had for 500 dollars
MARANTZ SR5008 7.2 Network Home Theater Receiver with AirPlay | Accessories4less
that will get you up and running with what you have.
If you wanted to spend a little more you could get a 9.2 channel receiver which gives you more options..
ONKYO TX-NR929 9.2-Ch Network A/V Receiver | Accessories4less
This model from Onkyo will let you run a 7.2 channel set up in the living room and a 2 channel set up in the bar area. Or it will allow you to do a 5.2 in the living room, a 2 channel in the bar, and a 2 channel outside.
It really depends on your budget and what exactly you are looking for...
If you just want background music for social get togethers and better then TV audio, those ceiling speakers will be fine. However if you are looking for more there are tons of options. (and so much money you can spend)
