Hi there, i am looking to redue our current setup. The new room was built for ht its 14'x 20' 8'ceiling height. I have a budget of about 5k looking to get a new reciever(7.1) fronts rears center..etc I am using a sony bravia xp lcd 40" with hdmi.

I have all bose 901's now with a klipsch center and mtx 12" powered sub. with a onkyo dx-ts777 reciever, it sounds ok but the front left ch is out and dont know if its worth fixing.

I was looking into Denon, Harmon Kardon and Yamaha recievers.. and Heard a few speakers such as the monitoraudio series and liked them. but whats the preference? and also the reference series from klipsch

Taste in speakers is very subjective. Klipsch are great speakers as are Monitor Audio and tons of others. Try and audition as many as possible.

If the new room was built for HT, are you planning to install a projection setup or is the 40" it? You can purchase a very nice setup for $5000, what exactly are your expectations? What sources will you be using in the system?

Sorry its a sony bravia xbr lcd... And i will stick with that... i just want a system that sound acousticaly clean. i love all sorts of music and will play it at all levels. but my wife and i would more or less love to be engolfed in the movie or music were watching.

Sources~ Blueray dvd, Directv, Ipod, ps3, my cd player and maybe a vcr, but we dont have much tapes left..

If you like the MAs then your search is over, they're an exceptional speaker. Pair up an RS-6/LCR/FX/1 combo with an SVS PB12-NSD sub powered by a Denon 2808, Onkyo 805, or Yamaha 1800 receiver and prepare to enjoy.
