New HD channels coming?

Just saw an ad for DirectTV saying that they were adding 150 new HD channels. Anyone heard about this? I currently have Verizon Fios and they also said they are in the process of adding new channels as well. Right now they have just moved around some of the current channels.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but how do you like FIOS? I'm thinking about getting it set up and getting rid of my cable company.
Thanks.

@ragged - yes I saw that commercial too. But the wording is we will soon have capacity for over 150 HD channels. Doesn't really say they will have them.

@ Andrew - I do not have the fios TV service yet, but several of my friends and family do and it is AMAZING....if it is installed properly. Many of the service men who are installing it are cutting corners and not doing things they are taught in the installation school and this is resulting in people being unhappy with the service. If you have it installed make sure they 1. Gound the box they put on the side of your house. 2. CLEAN THE CABLE - apparently the dust that the cable collects in the factory and while it's sitting on the back of the truck makes a huge difference in picture quality. They are supposed to do this before they install it, but it is a somewhat lengthy and involved process that the installers are reluctant to do. I have a family member who is a verizon employee and teaches the install classes for FIOS. The Corning fiber cable can carry so much bandwith they are having to put attenuators on the lines because it's possible the signal can blow out the STB. The FIOS signal enters the house at +15db while my cablevision signal comes in at about -5db (yes, it's negative)

I saw the same ad. It is coming; so is tomorrow. :D When will it get here? ;)

With that Verizon cable, I wouldn't look at those sat ads:D And V's internet, WOW. Too bad I won't see it as Verizon needs to trench the country first:D

They're coming on line, towards the end of the year (partially) actual channels to be done 170-175 by end of 08 and early 09. 150 have been agreed upon.

Fios is Fabulous!! Get it if it's available. Right now I have tel., cable and internet all on 1 bill from verizon. It's also way A LOT more reliable than my comcast cable ever was. I lost it once, in the last year, and it came back in 5minutes.

HD is crisp and clean, and SD is much better than cable.

Hell ya, I`m waiting for motogp in HD.

Hopefully more HD channels on directtv and such, more free ones for an antenna!
