New guy needs receiver advice

Hey Guys,

I've been kicking around the idea of buying a new receiver, as my old Yamaha just isn't cutting the mustard anymore, plus my remote just gave out. I've been looking around and am definately interested if purchasing something with hdmi switching, maybe the Denon 3806. The thing is that it seems like right now isn't a very good time to drop that kind of money on an avr, seeing as the bugs are still being worked out of most models, so I was thinking of just buying a budget receiver like the panny xr55 to hold me over. I'm running Klipsch Heresy 2's with an rc25 center (which is a little bright for my liking), and was wondering if the panny would work well with them. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This is surely a time of change for AV receivers. You might wish to check out the Onkyo web site for some deals on factory refurbished receivers that come with a one year warranty. You will save some money, get a better unit than Panasonic, and bide your time until the technology stabilizes. It is most unfortunate what the Hd dvd formats are doing with regard to the HDMI 1.3 requirement.
