Hello,

Just wanted to write a brief introduction. I'm a big fan of home theater and high end electronics in general and am glad to finally be joining a group that has similar interests.

I currently have a Panasonic 50" Plasma (TH-50PX20U/P), a Pioneer Elite (VSX-59TXi) receiver, Pioneer Elite DVD player (DV59-AVi), and Atlantic Technology 8200 series 7.1 speaker system.

I picked up the whole setup back in 2004... I'm trying to decide what the best upgrade path to BlueRay / HD-DVD will be... would appreciate any assistance or recommendations...

Thanks!

Welcome, X!
I was gonna say speakers, but then checked on the 8200s and see they are pretty substantial gear! ($10k+ retail)
I also see the 8200 has a really hefty sub amp included in the package as well. Gosh, unless you were eager to upgrade your receiver and dvd player, I wouldn't change a thing.
I owned a Pioneer 45A and it was a nice machine. The 59 is a few steps up and is an excellent unit.
If you are dead set on making a purchase, buy an external amp for your fronts and center. Go 200wpc + and you will hear a noticeable change. Some here would wonder if your receiver has the latest hdmi but that is just bells and whistles imho. Also, some ideas on how your room is set up, and what room treatments, if any you have done...
Pictures are always nice!:)
