I have been suffering upgraditis for some time now and have not had a chance to justify a shot of retail therapy. But, recently a cure became available. Found it on CL for a STEAL and could not give up the oppertunity :D.

So with great joy, I announce the newest addition to the Agarwalro Home Theater Family. I am now the proud owner of a Parasound HCA 2205A :D. This thing is a beast! Currently I have it temporarily hooked up for testing and such. I will rewire the whole rack :( once I get better cables from Monoprice.

The only down side is, I am now in the dreaded Ground Loop Zone . Did some investigation and the prognosis is not good. Getting a loop from the cable to internet modem, TV and sub. Will most likely have to isolate the amp itself. Also, with the initial listening, I was not able to hear any improvement in sound over the AVR alone  Maybe, the Axiom sepakers are too easy to drive and I know the Denon has a great amp section in of itself... I will be trying two configurations, running all five channels through the amp and running only the front stage through the amp to see if there is any difference (don't want the Denon to feel left out now that the new baby is here).

Now for some pics... looks a little dirty, but I wanted to pass along the good news to my AH community :)

LOL! I had been snooping all along :D. Yeah! I took a hiatus since over time I changed my job, home, girlfriend, car, hair style... [thinks ]. But, I am the same AH :).

Also, I was not planning on making any additions/ upgrades for cost saving. Staying on AH forums seems to give me perennial upgraditis/ tweakitis. Case in point, it’s only been a month or so since I became active again (slow work month) and I dusted off the RS meter, re-ran the AS MultiEQ calibration, fired up REW every weekend and now there is a new addition already! Last but not the least, the amp is not even wired in yet and I am on the look out for a DCX 2496 deal. [desperately trying to avoid it for the sake of sanity] Being on this forum is spendy... I need AHA (AH Anonymous).

Hey, he's got your sign on the wall.:D

Nice score, Agarwalro. Ground loops are treatable. Upgraditis is not, so it would seem.

Very nice, all I ever find on CL is cell phones and people trying to sell worthless "vintage" speakers for $800 :D

Oye! That is a great idea, NOT. I comitted the speakers because they are easy to remove and reconnect. The amp at 90lbs.... just moving it is a back breaking affair. I certainly don't intend to move it once it has been integrated into the rack.

M60's (and maybe, just maybe, the amp) will accompany me on the AH adventure.
