New Epik Empire....OLD receiver....

Just uncrated new Epik Empire sub. I have an old Technics receiver; only has right and left channel subwoofer outputs. Any idea how to hook up the new Empire until I get a new receiver?

are you saying that your technics has main preouts?

Sorry, I don't even know what a "preout" is. The receiver has two outputs labeled subwoofer, marked left and right. The receiver is a Technics model SA-GX690 from the days when Dolby "Pro-logic" was the latest thing.

I plan to replace it soon, but would like to hook up the new sub until I have the funds to replace it.

Use a "Y" adapter such as this one.

It will do just fine till you get your upgrade going.

You probably should plug it into the crossover side of the Epik Sub and use the crossover in the sub until you get your new receiver.

The answer is obvious - you need to buy another Empire and run them in stereo!!
