I am brand new to the forum, I have a New Denon 3805 and Samsung hlp5674w Comming Soon! Which is the good news...The bad news is I am hoplessly conflicted (having read mucho internet forum info) on what would be a fantastic way to spend about $2000 to $2500 on speakers Axiom, Rocket, Aperion all look like good options but there is obviously tons of conflicting info out there. (they all can't be great) and so many configuration options, ( My Head hurts) I dont want to be sending speakers back to three or four different companies and am not adverse to mix and match. I felt this forum would be more unbiased as it is not related to a speaker company. I have not decided on floorstanding or bookshelf speakers yet, room is 20 by 15 wih 9 foot ceiling. I NEED HELP. Would like everyone's best pick.......

I'm new at this but I think my receiver is going to not sound very good without any speakers.

You have some great equipment so far and think the axioms would make you happy. i own the axiom epic60 with the vp150 as center. i auditioned the aperions at hes 2004 and was impressed but personally i like the axioms better never heard the rockets. as far as un-biased opinions you can find them on axioms message boards they are a good lot of people. and i believe there are quite a few people in CA who will open their doors to you for a demo. just my 2 penny's hope it was helpful.

Thanks For Help

Thanks Snakeyes

The Axiom Set-up is at the top of my list and their forum is very helpful. The TV and the receiver were relatively easy as I think these things are a little less subjective, the speakers seem to me to be like talking to people about art, some people love something and you find one or two that think it sucks and you get confused. The axiom set-up seems to have many proponents with the best reviews comming in for the M60 speakers and the surrounds. The subwoofer and the center channel seem to have a few detractors. There appears to be a few good options for the subwoofer and not too many for the center channel, but it looks like you upgraded this anyway. I'm not sure about big or little speakers for the front given logistics and asthetics, but axiom seems to have a great line of products. Subwoofer and center channel concerns led me to the AV123 (rocket ) website and more products with more die-hard users. Guess this also begs the question of how these things mix when different vendors are used. Any help from anyone greatly appreciated !

You are right. Speakers are critical.

And they are all great. :D

By the way, I own Polk LSi's.

Seriously, speakers are very subjective. Yes, they really can sound different, and your room accoustics will play a big role in how the speakers sound as well. I would treat speaker advice about the same as I would the advice from my mother/father/sister/cousin/next-door neighbor/best friend as to the woman that I should date/marry.

Everybody is got an opinion. I got to live with the "woman".
