"New" Dahlquist DQ-10 opportunity to buy

I need help from the experts:

I'm creating a modest music room and I have $800 to spend on 2 speakers.

A close friend today offered me his 2 DQ-10's that are presently boxed, having been completely (inside and out) rebuilt by Regnar, 3 years ago. The speakers have never been played since the rebuild.

My friend graciously offered to sell them to me for the same $800 (plus freight).

Can those familiar with these admittedly famous speakers offer their opinion as to whether I am best served by purchasing the DQ's or by buying something else for the same $800?

If something else, I'd appreciate your top 2 suggestions.

Assuming the rebuild went fine and things are hunky dory in storage, that sounds like a great way to go.

ps also assuming you like how they sound....
