Well as luck would have it, I just happen to be working from home today and received a knock at the door from a guy in a big truck. The credenza arrived 5 days early so I eagerly help the guy unload and take it to my garage. When we tried to move it off the crate it seemed stuck, we finally pulled it off and turns out that it was nailed all the way through a couple of shelves. We turned the box over and about half the box and protective foam was missing along with some pretty holes from the nails and many scratches. Loaded it back up and sent him on his way…mail order sucks…

Yeah, unless it's electronics, they won't respect your packages at all!
And this is from the exact same company?
Didn't you already let them have it the last time?
So they don't sell anything like that locally, huh?

Nope, last week it was the acoustic panels from GIK and was delivered by DHL. This was my credenza from Racks and Stands and was delivered by some big freight truck. This is the first crendeza we have found that we liked and would house all my gear so we were pretty excited. We could only find it online.

DHL? You're lucky it got there at all! I don't know if their consumer delivery is different, but at my job, when we ship via DHL, they seem to lose at least one shipment a month. We finally stopped using them.

I guess that's who GIK uses.

I've had back luck with DHL as well. To them overnight to where I live is actually 3 days. Who is at fault with the credenza? Did the shipping company nail it down?

They wanted to make sure it wouldn't slide around in the truck and get damaged .

I don't know what it is but I guess I have been extremely lucky with all the things I have gotten shipped to me. I have almost never had a shipping problem and the one time I did it was taken care of right away. Also, I have received nothing but the best customer service from DHL. Last time I had a package on its way from them they attempted delivery once and I wasn't home, but since I needed to sign for the package they left a note saying they would try again and did in the hour long time frame they listed. I have never even been able to get a time frame from Fedex or UPS for a first delivery much less expect a second.

Racks and Stands lists their assessment of quality and how often the piece is damaged in shipment. I guess they'll be bumping up the damage indicator from rarely to sometimes for this stand.

That sucks man, sorry to hear it. I got mine without issue from Racks & Stands, though I wasn't the one who received it so I don't know who delivered it.

My neighbor had an (expensive) computer plus several peripherals delivered. She wasn't home, so they just left all the boxes stacked in the breezeway!

What are the blue lights under the TV? And where's your impression of the TV?

I have not been around in a while. What ever happened to the panels you were getting as well?

Looks fantastic.
That Center speaker fits perfectly.
And that MIT 73" looks extremely thin for a DLP. I think my 62" MIT DLP is like 18" thin, but somehow that picture makes your 73" MIT look even thinner.

Looks good. I've just spent the last couple of months going through the same thing, so I feel your frustrations. I needed one to fit my center speaker, and I wanted room for another 6 components, so I was looking for something that was 3 components across and 3 high (and within a rather small budget).

Took me forever to find it, then I ordered from a place who ended up not having it in stock, then I found somewhere else cheaper "in stock", asked the first place if it was in yet and if they could do anything with the price, instead they just canceled my order, so I ordered from the second place, who turns out didn't really have it in stock, finally had it shipped out almost 4 weeks after my initial order only to receive a crushed and ripped box. My wife received it, and it was wrapped multiple times in bubble wrap so the condition of the box wasn't readily apparent. There were two middle drawers that were literally ripped apart, and one vertical support shelf cracked. We put it together anyway, and I called the manufacturer the next day and they shipped out replacement drawers and a shelf for free. I must say I was impressed with the manufacturer, not so much with the store I ordered it from. The shipping company noted on the packing slip that the box was crushed and torn when they picked it up, I didn't notice that note until days later.

Sorry for the sidetrack...
How wide is your credenza? I have 65" credenza for a 56" tv. I thought it would be too big, but now I kind of wish I would have went wider. Especially if the tv were to die, and I needed to replace it, and a larger tv was on sale...I need the room to grow...just in case...

The blue lights are built into the TV; you can turn them on or off. I was waiting awhile for the TV review to make sure I liked it and am keeping it. I will write something about it tomorrow as it is a "keeper".

I recieved the GIK panel but they didnt pass the WAF so they went back. We are still looking for something that will work. It may just end up being some wall rugs.

Nice:)

It is 17 inches deep but they made the frame smaller and sloped more for a thin appearence. The center has plenty of room and I was able to angle it up properly.
