New Centre Sounds Muffled

For those of you who are interested, I hooked up my new RF 15 speakers last night, moved my old Canton's to the back, ran some new 14 guage speaker wire (not monster, in spite of severe pressure from salesman both at A and B Sound and Radio Shack), and i am very pleased to say that my setup is very :) satisfying.
I put in the Pink Floyd Pulse concert DVD. :D Wow! What a difference some nice front speakers made. The Center blended perfectly. The excess bass or muffled sound disapeared. Right from the opening "Shine on Crazy Diamond" I was enveloped in a clear uplifting sound experience. And it got better from there on.
After Pulse, I slapped in Gladiator just to hear how a movie may sound. Again the opening battle scene in DTS was fantastic. Dialogue was from the centre, ambiant noises from the applicable speakers was clear and balanced. My sub accepted the bass at crossover perfectly.
My only problem is.....now how do I justify a new reciever to my significant other!
Thanks to all for your inputs and advice on this thread.

Glad it all worked out for you.

I,'m a stickler about always recommending hte front three speakers (at least) are from the same manufacturer and line. For HT, you can get by very well with non-matching surrounds but, if you wanna do multi-channel music right, they really should match the fronts. maybe in time...

but, I'm glad your problrems all worked out.

What is wrong with the receiver you have? What is it not doing or it doesn't have that you must have?
