Ok, It's been two weeks since FedEx left my new speakers sitting in a puddle. Work kind of keeps getting in the way of everything I like to do. Funny how that works.

Anyway, Axiom's packaging kept them safe and dry. The outer boxes were wet on the bottom and the cardboard severely damaged. But that is as far as the water got due to their packaging.

Oh yeah, what did I buy? I bought a pair of M60v2 towers in Cherry and the VP150v2 center in Cherry. I did the delay in instant gratification for the extra 10% discount. Axiom says the discount is for marred/imperfect finish. Dang if I can find any defect. This was slightly more than I had budgeted after I told the wife the budget. But she wisely never asked the final price...:D but I figure I am safe since I was pretty darn close.

Here's a shot of the tops/bottoms of the inner packing. Plenty of foam in there kept the speakers up and out of the water.

Foam is over 2" thick at the sides. Probably some metric thickness being Canadian, eh?

Lots of left over foam pads from the three speakers.

Finally, the speakers were sealed in plastic which kept them dry. I found no damage at all from water, shipping, rodents, marsupials, rabid ducks, etc. So I am quite pleased with their packaging.

There is a final attached pic of the feet kit included with the towers.

Pardon the extra posts, I'm attempting to figure out how to post pictures inside the text. Not exactly very good at it, but I will keep at until I succeed or am banned...

Glad you finally got your speakers, but you skipped the important part. How do they sound? I'm curious to hear what you think. Time to change your sig too. lol Enjoy!

Oops. Internet access was acting up last night. Crappy hotel connections...

Setting up the speakers went quite well. The spikes made a nice stable platform but also made me wonder about the floor beneath the carpet... But they helped make the speakers stable.

Sound...Keep in mind the room is a massive box of hard surfaces. Here's a pick to give some idea. room 1.JPG So let's be realistic that I could probably really use some wall treatments.

Anyway, I am much closer toa real soundstage. For 2.1 channel music playing, the M60 towers provided a really well balanced sound across the frequency range per my ear. The mid range was much improved over my old speakers. Music details are much clearer. Take Bob Seager Greatest Hits CD...the snare drum is clear and each tap is pure sounding. Female voices like Norah Jones sound beautiful.

Bass tones are very good. I've been very pleased with each music selection I've played on them to date. Every CD that was recorded well comes out great.

I don't understand the people that say the Axiom speakers are bright. I don't get that impression. But then I like detail in my sound. Overall, for music, I'm very happy. I think I would be happier if I could convince the wife to let me install some wall treatments...

The VP150 center makes me very happy for movies. The only movie so far run on it has been the Hangover. The voices are much more clear and realistic than my old center. I used to wonder what was said sometimes but not with this center! This is how the dialoge on movies is supposed to sound!

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. They look beautiful so the WAF is a thumbs up. The towers make a good bass note when the mutt's tail bangs against it too.
