New Av Surround System for around £700

Hi Folks,
I'm looking to replace an ancient Sony surround sound system of approx 14 Years old.
My budget is around £700 ($1000) and i'm contemplating a HTIB as in Sony 7100 system or separates.
On the separates side I was considering a Yamaha RXV-475 or similar/better and a complimentary set of 5.1 speakers.
My listening would be a mix of TV, Films & Music - although I'm not exactly an audiophile, I would expect quality sound. Network streaming would also be a plus.
I can't audition as I live in a remote area but would be depending on feedback to my query.
If you could recommend good value packages (amp & speakers) and the best place to buy online - I would really appreciate it.
Thanking you in advance.

Honestly, I was in your shoes couple of month ago and have truly learned that everyone has a total different opinion and preference when it comes to "the sound to your ear". For what I might thinks sounds decent, other might not agree and vice versa.

As far as the yamaha RX-v475, that's a decent receiver. I bought the Yamaha RX-v375 which is step lower and it was awesome, only reason I didn't keep it because I got a higher model Onkyo for just 100$ more.
