New amp...which direction to go.

I'm anticipating picking up a new prepro for HT & two channel after the 1st of the year. I'm quite happy with my vintage 1980 Nikko VI amp for the mains so that's off the table for now. I have an Outlaw monoblock for my center & my NAD T765 is powering my surrounds. I have a couple different scenerios to ponder for the center & surrounds.

Keep the Outlaw, buy two more & call it a day. The most expensive move.
Sell the Outlaw & pickup an EMO XPA-3. Rather inexpensive move.
Keep the Outlaw & pickup a used two channel amp. Rather inexpensive also.

I'm not interested in a 5 channel amp. I like the flexibility of being able to swap out the main two channel amp when the mood hits me (Mac MC 402 some day!!!). So, for now I'm just interested in powering the center & surrounds. My surrounds are Polk LSiFX which are 4ohm & the center is 8ohm. Which way do you think is best?

I might have missed it but: why isn't "keep it all, enjoy music" an option?

If you want a real upgrade go pro. I'm thinking 3 QSC RMX 1450s paired with the DCX 2496. That would give you a pro eq system with more power than you could ever use with main speakers.

http://www.djdeals.com/behringerDCX2496.htm price match that to zzounds.com

Now there are other amps you can go with. The Yamaha P2500s

Or even the Behringer ep2500. All will be a huge step up.

Definitely another option. But don't most pro amps have fans that can be rather noisy? I know you can probably swap the fan out with a whisper quiet one but I would probably never tackle the job.

The Yamaha's are stone quiet and very robust. I personally never notice, but fan noise doesn't bother me. I'd suggest the Yamaha's if fan noise is a concern.

I know that Wmax uses Yamaha amps and hasn't heard the fans even.

Price match that a zzounds to get the best deal.

The Behringer amps will require swapping the fan unless you have a closet you can stick it in. I have the EP1500 for powering 2 subs - it is nearly identical to the 2500 - I had it on for all of 5 minutes - pulled the plug and ordered a fan.
