New A/V Receiver- Best Match

I currently own an NAD T753 and a full set of JM Labs Chorus S speakers. All in all the NAD has performed well over the last 6mo. It has plenty of power and a detailed, warm sound on music and movies. Initially I was very warey of buying this receiver from all the negative feedback I had read about reliability issues.

To make a long story short the receiver is creating a ground type loop in my system when the subwoofer is set to on. It puts a loud popping in my speakers when any electrical household motor is tripped i.e. heater, refrigerator etc. I have tried Monster line conditioners up to level 3 and they have not helped. I have heard others complain about this issue and rather than spend the time and money to try and get it resolved I would rather switch to another receiver. I believe it is once again a shortcoming of NAD. To make a long story short I want this problem fixed and was looking for suggestions on a new receiver.

I listen to music about 60% and Movies about 40%. Looking for best match with my Focal JM Labs Chorus 714 S, CC70 S & 705 S. I want something that will be at least as musical as the NAD so I am considering Rotel 1056, Arcam 250, perhaps Denon 3805 but I don't think that will cut it in the music catagory. I like a lot of body to my music but I live in a duplex so I really can't crank up the juice, I do however want a receiver that will fill a 12x15 room nicely.

Thanks for any suggestions. :D

Where do I put that isolater? Between the a/v receiver and subwoofer?? I would kinda like to get rid of the NAD in favor of a more powerful unit though.

I definately want to try this though, does it go in between the coax television cable and the TV?? I just don't understand the principal as to why I would need this- My A/V system is in no way connected to the cable tv. Unless the cable line into the TV is going through the component hook-up into the DVD player and then into the receiver and somehow getting into the sub line?

The isolater is to go between the cable coax & the tv. Disconnect the cable from the tv completely & see if your problem is gone. If so, then you need the isolater.

When I was hot on this problem a few weeks back I think I did disconnect the cable from the TV and I believe I still got the popping. Now I have the sub turned off on the receiver and it hasn't done it all night. Matter of fact I remember totaly disconecting the cable from the TV and watching a DVD and the popping noise was still present.

Hmmm. Well, I worked & worked trying to find the cause of my problem. It was a ground loop caused by the cable coax. The problem was so bad, it would power up my sub without my sub even being set on by the receiver. My sub, and I guess most do, has an auto on position on the power switch. For $12, this little gem solved my problem. I think my picture quality is even better.

If you like to throw away money, go ahead. All I need one to knock down is the hum! $12 did the trick for me! :D

Zumbo, can you describe your problem to me? I do not have a constant hum in my system but I have noise that is always finding its way into the system. I know it is a grounding problem.

In my case, I was getting a hum in my NHT sw-12 powered sub. Come to find out, The signal was causing the sub to cut on in auto on mode. I spent hours unhooking equipment until I traced it to the cable coax for the tv. I could hook the cable up & it would turn my sub on. I asked the same question on here. I had a response from a person with a similar problem who had just ordered the isolater. Without waiting for their results, I ordered one also. It solved the problem for both of us, and I am very grateful for their help & this site.
Recently, someone else ordered the isolater and it didn't solve their problem.
