I'm for it but question whether the FCC has the legal authority to regulate the Internet network.

Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, etc... want this so they can push their premium content to you and block or throttle the competition. They are stuck on the old Cable TV or Telephone service model, and not innovation.

Perhaps the solution is to break up companies (like we did the utilities and phone companies) into network provider and content providers. That would go over great with ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, etc....:D

I can agree with this point but to some aspect this is already so. Take AT&T, they want to charge you the user for every byte of content you access through their network and they want to charge content providers for every byte of content that users access through their network.
