Can someone lend me some instruction about the following. I know it might seem lame, but I'm learning. Thanks

When finished ripping with EAC, what is the best way to bring your album over to Nero. I ask this because when I see the listing of the ripped songs where I had them ripped to, I also see a couple of data files plus the Nero symbol at the top of the ablum list. When I press on the Nero symbol it brings up Nero and brings over all of the songs to begin burning, but it also brings those data files over. So what I did then was I opened up Nero first this time and then highlighted and brought over only the songs and left out the data files instead of pressing the little Nero symbol which was above my ablum list which brought over everything. This is a naive question I know, but someone might be able to get what I'm trying to say and maybe offer a Nero method which is the right way. When you reply, can you thoroughly describe what you mean, kinda like you would talk to a slow witted yocal :D like the toothless hillbilly on the Simpsons, just kidding. I'm new at this and don't get the short form talk quite yet.

Thanks so much,

Praxis

Give it some time, my friend. It's only been half an hour on a Sunday. :) A lot of people aren't here right now. You asked the same question just last night in another thread. Sometimes people don't know, and sometimes it just takes a while for the right people to see it.

I'm not sure where your confusion lies but there is no 'best way' and either of your methods are fine.

Nero is a CD burning app (among other things) and in general with that kind of app you make a playlist by selecting the files you want from anywhere on your hard disk. Once you have the list, you start the burn. If I want to make a mix CD, I'd build the playlist by navigating to each directory on the disk that has a song I want and selecting it to add it to the list.

When you ripped a CD with EAC it put the files somewhere on the hard disk and the little Nero button you talk about is just a shortcut to launch Nero and automatically add all of those files created by ripping the CD to the list of files to burn to CD. You can launch Nero separately and start a new compilation and use its file system browser to go select those files yourself if want to.

I don't know what 'data' files you are talking about but it sounds like extra information created by EAC that it needs to tell Nero the files that should be added to the list of files to burn. If you are burning an audio CD those files cannot be added to the CD and Nero should reject them. If they were automatically added to the list just remove them before you start the burn.

Hi, Praxis. I hope that I didn't come across like a jerk. That sure wasn't my intent! I just know that sometimes it takes a little while for people who know the answer to come around. Best of luck with your CD burning.

For what it's worth, I've used iTunes for ripping and burning and have been quite happy with it.

Hey Adam how's it going. No problem at all and no reason for offense. As aka Chip Douglas said on the Dark Comedy "Cable Guy" your a real straight shooter. How's Arizona. Are you guys still frying your eggs on the side walks down there?

See you in the funny papers,

Yep, still hot. It got down to 38 here mid-week (record low I think, and also a record low of 72 for our high that day), but it got quickly back into the mid-90s all weekend. I, and definitely the pooch, can't wait until it cools off a bit. It's certainly better than summer, but it's pretty toasty for October.
