Does anyone know anything about Nelson-Reed speakers. I have a sub w/satillites that sound great at low to mid volume levels and better the higher you go.

The sub box is mdl# SW1201
and the satillites mdl# 5-02

any info would be appreciated. If I sale them, how much $$$$$ should I ask for?

Can't even get a photo of them via google. Can you post a website or some info on them?

Nelson-Reeds were high quality domestically-made speakers from '80's. They were low volume and targeted studios and some high-end audio sales. I'm almost positive they're out of business. I've only heard their tower versions, which cost about $4K/pair new in '87. They were very good for their time.

Since these things are orphans you'll probably have trouble getting much more than $100-150 for them. Try advertising them on Audiogon.com. Maybe you'll happen upon someone that's an N-R fan and scoops them up.

Richard, founded Nelson-Reed in the early 80's. Maybe I can answer your questions.

Ron,

Still around? Any info you can provide on A-04B is appreciated. There is a pair available locally - $600-700 or so.

I bought the 8-04B speakers (not "A" as stated above). They came with some literature/manual so I scanned and placed them online. If anyone has additional information on Nelson Reed speakers - any model - I would like to add it to the site. Contact me through the web site.

Great speakers, by the way. Very different form the panel speakers I'm accustomed to.
