I've got a 5-0 setup and I mainly use it to listen music, watch concerts rather than HT. The mains are fairly wide apart at 3.7m aiming towards the listener and my listening position is about 4m from either speakers. What I found is this gives the best clarity for mid and high frequency sounds. But what I also noticed is that if I'm just slight off-centre to the sweet spot, I mainly hear the sound from the closer speaker only. Sound I aim the speaker less towards the listener rather?? Thanks for your comments.

It depends on the speakers, but you may get some relief by turning them in so that they "cross" a half meter in front of you.

But some speakers just have a narrow sweetspot, it often goes hand in hand with precise imaging. Short of picking up a waveguided speaker pair, there's not a lot of help for it. You might possibly get some relief by treating the walls of the room with absorption.

I'd agree. Some reflection control will help. Also, you may find that you'll have a wider sweet spot and for more seats if you aim the speakers behind your head a bit. Depends on the speaker and the room.
