Alright guys, my Yamaha RX-V1500 is here, my set of BIC's are here, now I just lack my sub which is going to be an SVS-12 and a CD/DVD player. Was wondering what within reason would mate perfectly with what I have. I'd like to stay with Yammy but can be convinced otherwise. Thanks all!

What's your price range? I've got some BICs and a long shopping list. I plan on getting the Pioneer DV-578A universal player. It was on the recomended system setup for $1k. However, now there are Samsung units on the list, I would add those to the "consider" list.

I would go for a DVD recorder rather than a player

I too have a Yamaha RXV1500 (works just great and YPAO is an added advantage) with a Polk sub, and of course a Panasonic ES10 DVD recorder, which plays audio and MP3 CDs too!

I don't go for DVD recording because I find it pointless personally. Its just an added feature that I'll never use at all. If I do find myself with that attitude to record I'll just my PC. Price range, ehh, <$400. Would have to play SACD's and if it had mp3 playback, that too would be outstanding. Thanks.

I would be leary about the Samsungs, I had a HD-841, and whoa talk about issues on 2 of them.

The one I have now, is great. It probably has more than what you would need. But its in your price range. (199.00) It will play MP3's and SACD's and DVD-A, as well it will do 480p all the way up to 1080p. See signature below. The NeuNeo.

Oscar6036 - Just curious where you got your RX-V1500 from? Was it online? If so, where? They seem to be harder to find now. I'm looking to upgrade to it. And ow has the YPAO worked for you so far?

I got it from Ebay, $520 shipped, was a pretty good deal considering the Marantz I wanted was $660 shipped. Thanks.

P.S. Can give a contact address.
