Need Subwoofer- Follow up

I am confused as to which sub to incorporate into my new surround system. I have a medium sized room and am lookiing for tight bass and musicality rather than boom and room shaking bass.

My system consists of an NAD T753, Front set of Focal JM Labs Chorus 714 S, small Chorus Center and small chorus rears. The speakers incorporate 5" drivers so the bass although super tight and fast hitting is not as present as it should be. I looked at the new Chorus SW700 sub and as it was very impressive, however it only went down to 40hZ, I think for $700 I can do better.

My price point is $500 and down and I am looking for suggestions from people who know JM labs speaker characteristics and can suggest a good sub for seemless intergration into my system. I have read about all sorts of subs and the more I read the more confused I become. As it stands at this point I am closely eyeing the Hsu STF-2. My main goal is to not even know that the sub is on but to just feel and hear the low octaves. This was definatley the case with the JM Labs SW700 but the price and the 40Hz was disappointing.

Any help is greatly appreciated. :D

Looks Awesome especially the size and specs. I live in the USA though and it does not seem as though their are any dealers here.

Looking for a sub has been so confusing and trying to match with my speakers is also confusing. I have researched Hsu, SVS, Energy, Velo, Def Tech, NHT, Yamaha, JBl, RAVA, Pinnacle etc... Part of the problem is that there are not many dealers in my area for some of these products. Unfortunately and I know its a big no no I have to buy this sub without hearing it. I have narrowed it down to the Rocket UFW-10, the Hsu STF-2 or this Canadien sub above which looks very good indeed.

Anyone that that owns JM Labs speakers the entry level stuff maybe you can suggest a sub to match with my speakers. My biggest fear it that the sub will not blend well with the speakers. I really want it to disappear to the eye and not the ear.

Buying a sub without hearing it isn't really such a risky proposition as it might seem. All speakers are profoundly influenced by the room, and to a less degree the associated equipment. But subwoofers are much more room dependant than any other peice of gear. You simply won't know how a sub will sound til you dial it in with your own room & gear.

Good subs sound a lot more alike than good speakers do. The best subs really won't have much sound at all; that is to say they'll only be noticed by the depth and fullness they add to your program material, and the added punch. Several professional magazine reviewers have also opined that good subs tend to sound similar, and that narrowing them down somewhat by reading the specs is possible.

That is a good suggestion, I looked at the Strata three and the Q150 and they were both out of my price range. Any idea where I could price or look at a REL Quake in the USA- Website???
