Need subwoofer advice

I need some subwoofer advice: I am setting up a home theater and music listening system in a funny narrow space, kitchen/ family room. Viewing depth is shallow, maybe 8 feet, but width is very long, side to side. Using an Onkyo TX-NR609 receiver, LG 690 BluRay player, 5 Bowers and Wilkins M1 speakers mounted high near the ceiling. I listened also to Definitive Pro Cinema speakers of the same price, and Mirage too, and found the former too "tinny" and the latter "murky". I liked the balance and depth of the B+W's.

My question, I also got a B+W ASW608 Subwoofer, but didn't really hear it perform in the store. It is still boxed, so I can return it. Is it a good match, or should I get something like the Velodyne DLS 3500-R, which is $100 less.

Thanks for any help.

Set it up and listen to it, then make a decision.
