I already have a velodyne vrp 1200 but i know that sub is not that great, but should i get another velodyne to go with it? like this one http://www.velodyne.com/products/product.aspx?ID=12&sid=652u584v

or ( i like this SVS ) http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-isd2.cfm

or http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/subwoofer-reviews/subwoofers/epik-conquest-subwoofer.html

i do not have the exact size of the room but i will do that when i get home tonight. Any ideas would be great (kind of sub, placement, etc). Here is the link to my house pics

What is your budget? That Epik has an MSRP of $1600, almost twice the SVS.

I know it is not a big room but i want heart pounding bass. I have about 900.00 dollars for a sub and thats about it. i know someone that might sell me that epik for 950.00. I really, for that much money, want a new one if i can.

if you can get the conquest for 950, i'd go for that.

nothing beats driver size. :)

that's the only sure fire way of rattling you like a pebble in an empty can.

I would disagree with that statement. Driver size is only a part of performance. IMO the enclosure is equally, if not slightly more important then driver size.

that conquest has been beatin up he listens to dr. dre at 120 db. He treats the sub like crap because it was a gift and i don not know if i want to spend that kind of money on a sub treated like that. He has it turned all the way up (on the sub and receiver) until it distorts. I am looking for a sub for no more than 950.00 beacuse thats my girlfriends happy medium. Do i need two 12's or is one 15 good, or 2 seperate boxes to place in different areas. This is alot of money so i do not want to make a mistake. Also form the pics is the sub in the best spot? Also what about panels are they worth it? thanx guys

Don't look at it as 2-12's or 1-15. Look at the subwoofer, and it's performance.

You stated you wanted "heart pounding bass". The SVS PB12-Plus/2 is an excellent performer that will exceed your expectations, and give you plenty of headroom.

of course. we are assuming all these subs have been designed well around the driver.

believe me, dr. dre has NOTHING on these HT subs. unless he played some low frequency movies that broke the sub ... music can't destroy this sub.

i tried to turn up the music on any of my subs ... and you give up way before the subs do.

hey mike if i can i will try that one from my friend but if that does not work out should i wait to get the PB12-Plus/2 or will the PB12-NSD/2 be fine. The reason im asking is i could get the PB12-NSD/2 and the new sony BDP-S350 blue-ray player for the price of the PB12-plus/2. Is their that much of a differnece in subs to justify the extra money?

That's the problem. You'll always wonder if you should have. To pay that extra price not to "Wonder" is worth it in itself.

i really wouldn't know about the value to YOU. it has always been my preference to buy the flagship of a brand so I never have to regret buying too low or small.

edit: mazer pretty much summed it up

i would seriously add the PC13Ultra to your options (take Ron Temple's offer to demo the PB13 Ultra) he's also in CA.

the plus/2 mazer linked is almost like a giveaway price considering that the plus (single driver) used to be around that price.

if the conquest doesn't sound like its busted (use both music and movie demos to check) i'd still recommend it though (if you had to stick to the budget)

Wow. I can't even relate to that. I buy what I can afford within my budget and I'm happy with that.
