Any ideas would be great (kind of sub, placement, etc). Here is the link to my house pics http://s304.photobucket.com/albums/nn182/jaysonbarnett/

I have about 900.00 dollars for a sub and thats about it. i know someone that might sell me that epik for 950.00. I really, for that much money, want a new one if i can.

Click to expand... I would disagree with that statement. Driver size is only a part of performance. IMO the enclosure is equally, if not slightly more important then driver size.

He treats the sub like crap because it was a gift and i don not know if i want to spend that kind of money on a sub treated like that. He has it turned all the way up (on the sub and receiver) until it distorts. I am looking for a sub for no more than 950.00 beacuse thats my girlfriends happy medium. Do i need two 12's or is one 15 good, or 2 seperate boxes to place in different areas. This is alot of money so i do not want to make a mistake. Also form the pics is the sub in the best spot? Also what about panels are they worth it? thanx guys Last edited: May 1, 2008

Look at the subwoofer, and it's performance. You stated you wanted "heart pounding bass". The SVS PB12-Plus/2 is an excellent performer that will exceed your expectations, and give you plenty of headroom.

J jaysonbarnett Audioholic Intern Apr 9, 2008 46 0 0 Concord, ca May 1, 2008 #11 hey mike if i can i will try that one from my friend but if that does not work out should i wait to get the PB12-Plus/2 or will the PB12-NSD/2 be fine. The reason im asking is i could get the PB12-NSD/2 and the new sony BDP-S350 blue-ray player for the price of the PB12-plus/2. Is their that much of a differnece in subs to justify the extra money?

That's the problem. You'll always wonder if you should have. To pay that extra price not to "Wonder" is worth it in itself.

mike c Audioholic Warlord Jul 27, 2005 9,514 0 113 Manila May 1, 2008 #14 the plus/2 mazer linked is almost like a giveaway price considering that the plus (single driver) used to be around that price. if the conquest doesn't sound like its busted (use both music and movie demos to check) i'd still recommend it though (if you had to stick to the budget)
