The best thing to do is to try it before you buy it. Many are going tell you to listen to as many speakers as possible then decide, and they are right, but if its not possible I would look into Ascend Acoustics. Chances are, you'll like what you hear! If you don't, you can always return them. BTW, there are other companies like Axiom, AV123, Swan, etc... that have same policy.

I just got my M60's from Axiom and I can't be happier. Check the Silver eh???? thread to read my experice looking for speakers. With that budget and that amp almost anything is going to sound pretty nice. Consider also the type of music you listen most. Again, The M60's sounds excellent, Rock or Jazz, especially Jazz...I've heard more ghost notes played by drummers than I ever imagine. I'm a musician, so these little performance nuances are very important too me. Also, Acoustic Bass, they somethimes sound hollow-no definition (well, the bass player's technique is a factor) but played correctly it should sound clear...as if it was right there in the room. The Monitor Audio Silver RS6 is VERY good too, and the gold series is even better. Anyway, good luck and go ahead and ask, listen, and read...I did that for a month!

Exactly!!!!
And dont let budget's get in your way of thinking what you spend means anything. There are MANY people whom think the more they spend, the better they are, thats totally untrue. There are alot of manufacturers of speakers whom dont make any of their own drivers, or maybe a minimal amount at best, they just make cabinets and sometimes not even that. They use speaker outlets like parts express and a few others to come up with combo's they like and since they sell in small numbers, prices reflect that.
One suggestion I'll make is, first are you gonna run a sub??? Chances are yes, so now you pick out speakers based on that fact. You dont need to spend the money on speakers that can go sub 50- 60 hz in frequency. The sub and its receiver crossover point will be in the 60-80 hz range, no need to have speakers go down to under that by far and will save you some bucks!!
