Hey guys I just moved my theater to a small room(10x11) and am selling my Polk RTI12s,CSI3 and RTI4s. I have a Pioneer Elite 82 and Velodyne DPS12 that I will be using with the new speakers. I am trying to stick around $500 for the front 3 atleast, I have some Polk R30s that can be used in the back for a while. Size is important, I am using a projector and dont have a ton of extra space. I need to do some listing, but on the list right now are Energy Rc-minis, Paradigm atoms, SVS sbs-01s. What can you guys recomend that I add to the list or remove from it? Btw I will use it for 90% movies\tv, 10% music. Thanks

I might add the Behringer 2030p to that list, though there is no matching center for them IMO.

The SCS-01s would probably work well vs the SBS-01s, as they are only taller not wider, so they won't take up more space and they may be worth the added cost IMO, even in a smaller room, but you will probably be OK with SBSs.

Also consider the Cambridge Audio S30s; they also have excellent sound for $199/pair
I don't recommend the S30 after I had the chance to hear them.

The Epos ELS-3 is my preferred budget speaker and the front three might come in near the OP's budget.

I was going to mention the ELS-3 as well, but they are 4 Ohm and low sensitivity, something to take note of.

Paradigm's Monitor line is average.

Thanks for the input. I am now 99% sure im going with the Energy RC-Minis, they are the perfect size for my needs, and also come with mounts. The reviews I have read say they have characteristics that I favor. Thanks agin guys.

The RC-Mini are a decent small speaker. At MSRP, their value proposition is a little sketchy but I've seen them on sale near half off, at which point they are a great value. At any point in between, they are a good speaker for the money. The only real caveat with the Mini is that you will need a pretty high crossover point, somewhere around 120Hz or higher. At that point, the bass can be localized so try to keep the sub up front and near the center.

A dude in the classifieds has 3 x-ls speakers on sale for $250. They play way over their normal price point, and he is selling them at a big discount from that.

I have no affiliation with the seller.
