I need to find the best possible home surround system minus a dvd/cd player or whatever for under or Around 300 usd. let me know what you think. It would have to be easily available and come as a set. many thanks!

Tuff budget

I would suggest a pair of B-stock Onix X-LS speaker for $174 from av123.com.
Add a refurbished Denon or Onkyo receiver from Ecost for about $100.
When your budget allows, add the center, sub, and surround speakers.

The HTIB speaker systems in your price range are junk and a two channel bookshelf system will perfrom much better.

I agree with JcPanny, start with a two channel system and build upon that in the future. You dont want to be stuck with a crappy HTIB system that you wasted $300 on.
